The Bird and the Bee is an indie/pop/alternative musical duo
from Los Angeles, consisting of musicians Greg Kurstin ("bee")
and Inara George ("bird"). Kurstin, a producer and keyboardist
who has worked with Lily Allen, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Beck, The
Flaming Lips, Kylie Minogue and Red Hot Chili Peppers, is also
a member of the band Geggy Tah. Inara George and Kurstin met
while the two were working on her debut album and they decided
to collaborate on a jazz-influenced electro pop project. Their
debut EP, Again and Again and Again and Again, was released on
October 2006 and their debut album was released on January 23,
2007 on Blue Note Records.
The Bird and the Bee have started to pick up steam in 2008 by
appearing on several film soundtracks. "Fucking Boyfriend"
appeared in Forgetting Sarah Marshall and their cover of "How
Deep Is Your Love" appeared on the Sex and the City: The Movie
soundtrack. They also had a song featured on the third season
of the Tim & Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! episode "Larry".

To say
there has been a lot of anticipation for Coldplays fourth
album, Viva La Vida, is an understatement. Having enlisted
legendary leftfield producer Brian Eno, borrowed their album
title from a painting by renowned Mexican artist Frida Kahlo
and made tantalising remarks about sonic reinvention, the
world has been curious (to say the least) to hear what the
new Coldplay might sound like. Viva La Vida definitely makes
some departures from the bands usual formula, which happens
to be one of the most commercially successful rock-pop
blueprints of recent years. The plangent chords, emotive
melodies, stadium-rock rhythms and universal lyrical concerns
remain, but Martin and co. have gone out on several limbs
here, incorporating instrumental tracks ("Life In Technicolour"),
using subtle North African and Latin elements ("Yes",
"Strawberry Swing"), and overhauling previously strict
verse-chorus-verse structures in favour of slightly more avant
arrangements. The old Coldplay still shine through (see tracks
like "Violet Hill" and the title song) but even their classic
sound feels more muscular and confident. The bands new
flourishes, cosmetic and self-conscious as they may be, are
enough to make Viva La Vida a welcome break from the old
routine.

When it
comes down to it, Alicia Keys really does know how to conjure
some beautiful songs. After the souful success of No One from
As I Am, her fourth album, she shows absolutely no signs of
ending her reign in R&B. Her latest single, Like You'll Never
See Me Again, the second single from that album shows a softer
side from her voice that remains strong from the soul, and
still shows a pitch in her voice that has grown with her style
in writing. I really think this one follows the way No One
helped make As I Am shine. This track works better than
anything from wannabe artists like Fantasia or Jordan Sparks.
I definitely know Alicia really will make her next single just
as good as this one.

finest returns with his seventh full-length, FINDING

utilizes samples from such diverse artists as Nina Simone, Bob
James, Stevie Wonder, Gil Scott-Heron, Mountain, Dorothy
Ashby, and Paul Simon to create a purer, soul-influenced
hip-hop sound. Lyrically, Common is in the same place as ever,
spreading positivity and spirituality, speaking on
relationships and the ghetto struggle, and preaching love as
the central message. The artist formerly known as Sense also
utilizes topical media references ranging from the astronaut
love-triangle incident of '07 to contemporaneous celebrity
breakups. Supplemental production work comes courtesy of
KarriemRiggins, Will.i.am, Devo Springsteen, and the late,
great J. Dilla. Other guests include Lily Allen, Bilal, Dwele,
D'Angelo, and DJ Premier (who provides scratches on "The
Game").Compelling and entertaining from start to finish,
FINDING FOREVER is another triumph for one of the strongest
purveyorsof positive hip-hop.

Hudson was born in Chicago, Illinois on September 12, 1981,
and began her life as a singer with her churchs gospel choir
at the age of seven. Her extraordinary six-octave range
perfectly fit the style, and she still marks her early
experiences with gospel as a major influence. With little
formal training, Hudson won a spot aboard a Disney cruise ship
in 2003 where she performed for six months. After deciding not
to renew her contract with the Disney Wonder line, Hudson
auditioned for the third season of American Idol and
eventually made it to the coveted top 12 as a wildcard pick of
judge Randy Jackson.
The outpouring of press coverage surrounding Hudsons
departure ended up being a good thing for her career, and she
began performing at benefit concerts and had a brief stint in
the Broadway production of Hair. Her first major post-Idol
victory, however, came with the film adaptation of the hit
1981 Broadway musical Dreamgirls. Hudson beat out hordes of
crooning hopefuls (including Barrino) for the critical role of
Effie White, a major coup for a young, somewhat untested
performer. Her natural acting talent and incredible voice
convinced the producers she could do the job, and Hudson is
now looking at an Oscar nomination for her work. Her
performance in the film is in fact worthy of the buzz she
commands all of her scenes, and her on-screen sparks with
Jamie Foxx are truly electric. After the films anticipated
box office explosion and Hudsons recent Golden Globe
nomination, we can expect her to be in the spotlight for years
to come.

This album is fabulous. "Bad mood" unites all of Lonnie'

again" to "bad mood". This is not a Best of but it seems to be
'cause all songs are great. You'll find in this Cd' several
kind of music: pop/jazz, soul, dance and grandiloquent garage.
Lonnie has always worked with famous producers (David Morales,
Junior Vasquez, John Poppo,...). Here, the production is
fresh, funky and subtle (Todd Terry, Roger S.,..) and Lonnie's
voice is purely mighty. Watch for the tracks "love can turn
around", "bad mood", "do you want it?" (especially D.morales
mixes) and the beautiful and touching "missing you". Lonnie is

Kings of
Convenience are an indie folk-pop duo from Bergen, Norway.
Consisting of Erlend ye and Eirik Glambek Be, the musical
group is known for their delicate tunes, calming voices, and
intricately subtle guitar melodies. Both ye and Be sing in
their tracks, and both of them compose
Erlend and Eirik were both born in 1975 (Erlend on November 21
and Eirik on October 25), and have known each other since the
age of 10. At sixteen, they played together in the band Skog
("forest") with two other friends, releasing one EP Tom Tids
Tale, before breaking up and later forming the Kings duo.
The twosome were
signed to the American label Kindercore after appearing in
European festivals during the summer of 1999. After a spell
living in London in 2001, they released their debut album
Quiet Is the New Loud. The album was produced by Coldplay
producer Ken Nelson. The album was very successful and even
lent its name to a small movement of musicians in the pop
underground (including acoustic contemporaries such as Turin
Brakes) which took Belle & Sebastian and Simon and Garfunkel
as their inspiration and focused on more subtle melodies and
messages.
It was not until 2004 that the Kings' follow-up Riot on an
Empty Street was released. The video made for I'd Rather Dance
With You, the second single from Riot on an Empty Street,
topped MTV's European list as the best music video of 2004.
The album also featured contributions by Leslie Feist.

When it comes down to Jason Mraz, he has shown a unique
diversity with his guilty pleasure anthems in the past several

mistep with Wordplay and his lackluster 2005 album, Mr. A-Z,
he still can bounce back pretty nicely. I'm Yours, the first
single from his latest album We Sing, We Dance, We Steal
Things, brings in a laid back and enchanting Calypso feeling
that works nicely with the lyrics to this heartfelt song. I
really think this is proof that Jason Mraz can really bounce
back well, and this is honestly better than most of the songs
that most of the songs that almost all the songs that came out
this year. hope he can make sonething this charming again
soon.

Festival. When I bought this DVD at Kemang area, Jakarta, I
just picked this movie without any references and lucky me, I
love this movie and also the songs very much.
For me "If you
want me" is a sad song, so gloomy when I play it over and
over again. The lyrics haunting and heartbreaking.

school in a small eastern border town in the Czech Republic.
Irglova has reached this point not only through a series of
fortunate happenings, but also because of her talent, a
devil-may-care audacity, and a winning unpretentiousness.
Irglova has known
her co-star since she was 13. Every year a music festival has
been held in June in her hometown. Six years ago, her parents
threw a garden party for the visiting musicians, an Irish rock
outfit called The Frames, headed by vocalist and guitarist
Glen Hansard.
Soon, with
Hansard's encouragement and support, Irglova began writing and
composing her own music. He was invited back to the Moravian
countryside on a regular basis to relax and compose music.
Irglova, a multi-instrumentalist, would accompany him on the
piano. An ever-increasing number of gigs followed over the
next several years. "Making an album as a document of that
time was kind of natural." Their creative partnership
culminated in 2006 with the release of his first solo album,
The Swell Season.

Ivy was
formed in 1994 when multi-instrumentalists Andy Chase and Adam
Schlesinger convinced Parisian born Dominique Durand, who had
never before sung in a group, to venture into a New York
studio and record a four-song tape with them. Dominique, who
moved to New York City from Paris in 1990, first met Andy at a
party, where he was playing with his previous band. She told
him that his band was "not [her] cup of tea". The two became
involved in a romantic relationship, which lasts to the
present day. Three years later, Andy and Dominique wrote a
song, and asked Adam to play bass on demo. Adam persuaded Andy
and Dominique to write more together, which eventually
resulted in a five-song demo.
One of the first songs they recorded, "Get Enough", was
released as a 7"-single and was quickly named "Single Of The
Week" in the UK's Melody Maker.
Lately EP, released in 1994.They followed that single with an
EP Lately (released on Seed), and then on February 14, 1995
released their debut full-length Realistic, which although
raw compared to their later work - hinted at the melodic
sophistication and emphasis on production detail that would
follow. During this period the group began touring, sharing
the stage with Oasis, Edwyn Collins, Lloyd Cole, St. Etienne,

beatnya oke juga sedangkan "disko di rumah" lumayan norak

Pas lagu "New Day"
di maenin langsung bikin gw meratiin banget lagu ini karena layar
di belakangan panggung di puterin video klipnya yang juga di pake jadi
soundtrack, simple banget clipnya, cuma pemandangan dari dalam mobil
yang sedang berjalan dan udah gitu beat-nya lumayan menarik
perhatian gw.

(born Jocelyn Eve Stoker on 11 April 1987) is an English soul

soulful style of singing like her idols. "My first CD that I
owned was Aretha Franklin: Greatest Hits. And I saw the advert
on TV and it was just like little clips of her songs. I had no
idea who she wasI was only like 10 so. I said, 'Oh yeah, that
looks really good,' so I wrote it down and I said to my mum,
'Can I have that for Christmas?' So she told my friend Dennis,
who always gets me good music anyway, and he got that for me.
So that was one of my first albums that I loved." In 2001, at
the age of fourteen, she auditioned for the BBC Television
talent show Star for a Night in London singing Franklin's 1968
"(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman" and Whitney
Houston's 1998 "It's Not Right but It's Okay," eventually
winning. She told MTV News, "I kind of clicked into soul music
more than anything else because of the vocals. You've got to
have good vocals to sing soul music and I always liked it ever
since I was little.

My Baby" is a pop/R&B song written and produced by American
singer Mariah Carey, rapper Jermaine Dupri, and songwriter
Manuel Seal. Released in 1996 as the third single from Carey's

David Roland Cook (born December 20, 1982) is an American rock
singer-songwriter.[1] On May 21, 2008, he won the seventh
season of the reality television show American Idol. Prior to
Idol he worked as a bartender at the "Blank Slate" in Tulsa,
Oklahoma, and released an album entitled Analog Heart
Cook auditioned for American Idol in Omaha, Nebraska,
performing Bon Jovi's "Livin' on a Prayer." He originally did
not plan to try out for the show as he was going on a trip to
China; he came to the auditions initially to support his
younger brother Andrew (who did not make it to Hollywood) and

Just wanted
to say that those hearing 'Honey' and expecting an album with
a fundamental Badu-ish sound should be wary that this album
leans heavily toward the soul side of Erykah's musical
repertoire.
It's an amazing album, easily a 4 star, but with fewer
immediately memorable songs, with the obvious exception of
'The Healer' and 'Honey'.
Erykah explores new vocal sounds, adding to an already
enormous array of genres and tones that she has shown a
mastery of over her comparitivly brief career. (when
considering the long careers of some of the divas that she
will most certainly be compared to posthumously)
If this album were equivalent to Baduizm or Mama's Gun it
would warrant a 5 star rating. Seeing as how it is just barely
under their caliber but is still an amazing effort by Erykah
Badu with a couple radio gems and a large group of soul
grounded hip hop Badulicious tracks

Chicane is
an electronic dance music act, and the project of English
musician and record producer Nick Bracegirdle. He was born on
28 February,[verification needed] 1971, in Chalfont St Giles,
Buckinghamshire.
Chicane is known for the singles "Offshore", an Ibiza dance
anthem included in thousands of compilations in both chill-out
and dance versions; "Saltwater", which featured vocals by
Clannad member Mire Brennan and is ranked among the best-ever
trance singles[who?]; and the UK number-one hit "Don't Give
Up", featuring vocals by Bryan Adams, and also a top ten hit
on singles charts across Europe. Far from the Maddening
Crowds, Chicane's debut album, is still considered a seminal
release among the trance music community, while the second
album, Behind the Sun, was certified gold in the UK. In 2007,
after the hindrance of an ultimately unreleased album in the
intervening time, Somersault was released on Bracegirdle's
independent record label.
In addition, Bracegirdle also worked under the aliases Disco
Citizens, producing a handful of less radio-friendly,
vocal-less tracks with a stronger progressive house sound.
Working with singer Vanessa St. James and producer Mr. Joshua,
Bracegirdle was part of the Mr. Joshua Presents Espiritu
project, known for the song "In Praise of the Sun", released
with both English and French vocals. Nick has also gone by the
name "Rebel Transcanner" to produce a remix of Tomski's "14
Hours To Save The Earth." Nick Bracegirdle has also used the
alias Sitvac to produce a one-time single, "Wishful Thinking."

born in West London in 1980 (after which her autobiographical
first single was named). She is one of eight children, born to
a Senegalese mother and a father from Grenada. Estelle runs
her own record label, Stellar Ents, and has released her own
material through this - including the two "Da Heat" mixtapes
Part 1 and 2, the album The 18th Day and the singles "1980",
"Free" and "Go Gone". She featured on Natasha Bedingfield's
song "Drop Me In The Middle" for Natasha's U.S. release of
Unwritten.
The forthcoming album will feature production from the likes
of Will.I.Am, Wyclef Jean, Mark Ronson, Cee-Lo, Swizz Beatz,
and John Legend.
Kanye West also features on the album, on a track called
"American Boy" which reached number one in the UK singles
chart on March 23, 2008.Estelle will be touring with Wyclef
Jean with the tour dates soon to be announced

Bothers Jon and Tim Foreman on guitar and bass, respectively,
are rounded out by Chad Butler on drums, and the multilayered
harmonies of these young fellows stir it up like Rembrandts on
crusade. Not surprisingly, the band's sincere message coupled
with samples, pop whimsy, and clean hummability have already
landed them soundtrack tunes on the television shows Dawson's
Creek and Party of Five. At the record's center, the acoustic
"Let That Be Enough," written and recorded on the eve of Jon's
22nd birthday, eloquently captures the wonder, fear, and
hunger for wholeness that all folks coming of age experience.
This track is a prayer, which ultimately conveys the essence
of New Way to Be Human: in the singer's words, "that Christ's
love" will be enough to see him through the threshold of
manhood.

Grey "Emmy" Rossum (born September 12, 1986) is a Golden
Globe-nominated American actress and a singer-songwriter. She
is probably most well known for her leading roles in the films
The Day After Tomorrow, Poseidon and The Phantom of the Opera.
After her role in The Phantom of the Opera, Rossum was offered
several deals to record classical albums, but refused, opting
to create an album of contemporary, more mainstream music. Of
her music, she says it's pop music, but not Britney Spears
bubblegum pop. I want it to have a David Gray or Annie Lennox
feel. Ive been spending up to 12 hours a day in the studio.
The entire album is currently available. The album, produced
by Stuart Brawley, is titled Inside Out and was released into
stores on October 23, 2007. Clips of her album are available
on her Myspace page. For the promotion of the album, Geffen
Records also feature her album's single, "Slow Me Down", as
part of the second volume of Hollywood Records' Girl Next
compilation album, which was released on July 10, 2007.

This
revamped version of the Carpenters' two original Singles LPs
may, despite the absence of some Top 40 charters, stand as the
definitive single-CD collection of the duo's hits. Included
are most of the reasons Karen Carpenter's bring-the-pain
vocals are still revered by thrift-shopping college kids and
their moms alike. Despite the act's squeaky-clean image, Karen
was of course more than touched by tragedy; at least one of
the more hopeful of these tunes, "For All We Know," has doubt
built right into its title. The best of this is smart,
cry-in-your-Evian pop that sounds a lot less dated than it
might in your memory. "Close to You" and "Hurting Each Other"
are actually soulful claims on their then-new soft-pop
tradition, while the towering "Goodbye to Love" is worthy of
Rumours-era Christine McVie. Despite some duds, mostly from
its later period, 1969-1981 makes its case for this enduring
and sometimes classic outfit.

Everything
but the Girl (EBTG) are an English two-person band formed in
Hull in 1982.
The band's members are:
Lead singer and sometime-guitarist Tracey Thorn (born
September 26, 1962)
Guitarist, keyboardist & vocalist Ben Watt (born December 6,
1962).
Watt and Thorn are also a couple; they are intensely private
about their relationship and personal life. It was not a
publicized fact for some time that they were a couple, or that
they had subsequently married. The duo have a strong desire to
raise their three children outside of the spotlight
When Thorn and Watt met, their paths were very similar; they
were both attending the University of Hull, and both had
signed to independent record label Cherry Red Records as solo
artists. Thorn was also a member of the trio Marine Girls, and
Watt contributed a photograph to the cover of their first
album, Lazy Ways. The pair each had solo album releases
through Cherry Red Records: Thorns 1982 L.P. was A Distant
Shore, an eight-track mini-album. Watts L.P. was entitled
North Marine Drive.
They formed a duo and took their unusual name "Everything but
the Girl" from the slogan of well-known Hull shop Turner's
furniture shop on Beverley Road
